Since 2007, the Italian bassoonist and teacher Philipp Tutzer has held the position of principal bassoonist of the Mozarteum Orchestra in Salzburg. He studied bassoon at the conservatoire in his hometown Bolzano, in Vienna with the principal bassoonist of the Vienna Philharmonic Štěpán Turnovský, and in Hanover. He is a laureate of several international competitions, including the ARD in Munich, thanks to which he received the opportunity of giving concerts at the Philharmonie in Berlin, the Musikverein in Vienna, and the Salzburg Festival. He collaborates with orchestras including the Rotterdam Philharmonic, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Munich Philharmonic, and the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, and he teaches at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz and at masterclasses.
