Competition 2019 | Finalists in OBOE category

 The OBOE competition has its own finalists!

Today, the members of jury were paying attention to 12 candidates, who were competing to get to Finals, where only 4 participants can pass. The Finals will take place on May 13 in Dvořák Hall, Rudolfinum.

During the performances, we could hear pieces by François Couperin and Klement Slavický. There was also a premiere of the work composed for the IMC Prague Spring 2019 called Sound-Telescope by Martin Hybler.

Chairman of the jury Dominik Wollenweber announced the results and these following candidates were selected by the jurors to pass to the Finals: Martin Daněk, Gabriel Pidoux, Shota Takahashi, Seong Young Yun.

The jury also decided to give a special prize. The Czech Music Foundation Prize for the best interpretation of the piece written for IMC Prague Spring 2019 was recieved by Hirayama Yumiko from Japan.

The Finals are divided into two parts. The first part starts at 4pm and the second one at 8pm.

In the afternoon programme, we will hear these candidates:

  1. Martin Daněk (Czech Republic)
  2. Gabriel Pidoux (France)

In the evening we will see performances of these participants:

  1. Seong Young Yun (Republic of Korea)
  2. Shota Takahashi (Japan)
