We know the finalists of the CLARINET category

The ROUND II finished by 11 PM today. In the Martinů Hall, located in the Academy of Performing Arts, we were able to hear the following pieces – Johannes Brahms: Sonata for Clarinet and Piano in F minor Op. 120/1 and Sonata for Clarinet and Piano in E flat major Op. 120/2, Bohuslav Martinů: Sonatina for Clarinet and Piano H 356, Josef Páleníček: Partita piccola for Clarinet and Piano, Francis Poulenc: Sonata for Clarinet and Piano FP184, Camille Saint-Saëns: Sonata for Clarinet and Piano in E flat major Op. 167. The audience also listened to the composition Unsent Letter by Jan Dušek, specially composed for the needs of IMC Prague Spring 2020.

All the performances were excellent, however, the possibility of qualifying for the finals is only reserved for the top 3 musicians. After a long discussion, the jury agreed on the following finalists:

Chiang Yung-Yuan, Taiwan

Lefebvre Lilian, France

Sysová Anna, Czech Republic

Alongside with the finalists the jury also rewarded 2 contestants with honorable mentions:

Andrea Fallico, Italy

Jonas Lyskjær Frølund, Denmark

You are kindly invited to attend the finals at Dvořák Hall in Rudolfinum, where the finals is to be held from 6 PM. The tickets will be available on spot or via the official site.
