Coming soon! A New film marks 80th Birthday of the Prague Spring Festival
How did a festival become a global cultural phenomenon? And what lies behind the magic that fills Prague with music every May? The new documentary Window to the World, created to mark the 80th Birthday of the Prague Spring International Music Festival, takes viewers on a journey through time, from the very first tones in 1946 to the vibrant present day. Director Martin Suchánek offers a vivid and deeply personal portrait of a festival that has become an essential part of Czech cultural identity.
Through the voices of eyewitnesses and international stars, we’ll peek behind the scenes and into the cloakrooms, walk alongside the organisers, see the festival through the eyes of its audience, and relive the moments, both intimate and grand, that have unfolded on its stages.
The film is being produced in collaboration with Czech Television and with the financial support of innogy Czech Republic, a proud partner of the Prague Spring Festival. Window to the World will premiere during the 2026 edition of the festival.
