The theremin is an electronic musical instrument which, one hundred years since it was first introduced, continues to evoke a sense of awe. It is played without physical contact, only via the movement of the performer’s arms, hands and fingers. Carolina Eyck will present it as a modern instrument which has its rightful place on the border of various musical genres. In this informal Nocturne setting, members of the public will be given the chance to try out the theremin for themselves. The series of improvisations will also feature talented composer, conductor and pianist Jan Kučera.
