Twelve hands in dialogue – this is the subheading of what is now the ninth concert given by selected graduates of the MenART Academy at the Prague Spring. This year’s programme brings together young pianists guided by Ivo Kahánek and Karel Košárek and first-rate percussionists Antonín Procházka and Štěpán Hon. Twelve hands at two pianos, two mentor groups and a pulsating rhythm!
The programme also features a world premiere commissioned by the Prague Spring, this time from composer Jana Vöröšová. The piece is written for students of the MenART Academy’s piano department.

Cooperation between the Prague Spring and the MenART Academy
The concert at the Prague Spring marks the culmination of a year’s collaboration between MenART Academy graduates and first-class mentors at the school, whose scholarship programme is conceived with a clear vision: to support the search and development of young talents attending art and music schools and, at the same time, to provide support for teachers who dedicate themselves to art students over the long term. The mission of the MenART Academy is to contribute to opening new perspectives on teaching, performance and creative work and to support their natural integration into practical experience. All students receive a scholarship, which removes financial barriers to entering the programme.
Over the previous eight years more than 1,174 students and 631 teachers from all over the Czech Republic were involved in the Academy’s scholarship programme. Many scholarship recipients achieved exceptional results in competitions or in college entrance exams and they are now pursuing their artistic careers.
“The concert at the Prague Spring is not only a significant musical celebration for our students but also an inspirational meeting of generations brought together by a deep connection to music and art. It is a joy to watch young people develop under the guidance of exceptional mentors, in the process bringing a fresh approach and new energy to classical music. We consider this important and we are truly honoured that the Prague Spring provides a platform for the youngest talents as well,” says Director of the MenART Academy Dana Syrová.
