The Metropolitan Opera in New York has announced its 2026–2027 season, including the debut of Czech conductor Tomáš Hanus, who will stage a new production of Leoš Janáček’s Jenůfa, directed by Claus Guth. The title roles will be performed by Asmik Grigorian (Jenůfa), Nina Stemme (Kostelnička), Allan Clayton (Laca), and Sean Panikkar (Števa). This is another milestone in the career of Tomáš Hanus, who will perform at the Prague Spring Festival on May 31 with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and the winner of the 2025 Prague Spring Competition, cellist Yuya Mizuno.
