The Prague Spring Festival has a new chair of the board of trustees

On Monday 19 October, at a meeting of the Board of Trustees, an election was held to appoint a new Chair of the Board of Trustees of Pražské jaro o. p. s. Oto Klempíř, the Minister of Culture of the Czech Republic, was unanimously elected as the new chairman. “The election of the Minister of Culture to head the Board of Trustees of the Prague Spring Festival is a logical step, reflecting a trend of recent years whereby, since 2021, a representative of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic has been elected to the post of Chair of the Board of Trustees of Prague Spring o. p. s., for clear reasons: The Ministry of Culture is the founder of Prague Spring, as stated in the organisation’s founding documents from 1999 and 2011, and is currently also the festival’s most significant financial partner,” commented Roman Bělor, a member of the Board of Trustees, on the appointment.

The artistic direction and programme of the Prague Spring remain entirely within the remit of the festival’s management. The programme for the 2027 Prague Spring will be released on 3 November.
