Klangforum Wien and Ensemble Modern are two elite ensembles specialising in contemporary music. Since their founding in the 1980s, they have been setting trends and inspiring others. They commission works from established male and female composers, and they have stood alongside the youngest composers at the beginnings of their careers.
How do they maintain continuity? How do they develop to avoid stagnation? Where are they heading? Their directors Peter Paul Kainrath (Klangforum Wien) and Christian Fausch (Ensemble Modern) will discuss all of this and much more. The moderator Miroslav Srnka is a composer and a member of the Prague Spring artistic board.
The discussion will be held in English.
