Results through inspiration

“International music competitions have always been landmarks for young instrumentalists as well as an occasion to meet other people from around the world and to listen to and compare different styles of playing and musical ideas,” says one of the world’s leading bassoonists Carlo Colombo, who will be the jury chairman. “For me, the Prague Spring International Competition embodies all of this spirit; it is not just an instrumental Olympic Games—it is something more. It is a musical competition where all of the candidates strive to be the best through artistic inspiration, and not just through technical skill,” he adds. The prestigious and closely monitored final round of the competition will present performances by the top three competitors before the public and a jury of experts.
