Tribute to Bedřich Smetana at Slavín
The annual commemorative act at the opening of the Prague Spring International Music Festival on the anniversary of Bedřich Smetana’s death.
Fanfares from Bedřich Smetana’s opera Dalibor and Fanfares of the Prague Spring will be played by the Prague Brass Septet (Pražský žesťový septet) under the direction of Cpt. Pavel Hromádka. The Czech Radio Children’s Choir (Dětský pěvecký sbor Českého rozhlasu) under the direction of Věra Hrdinková will sing. A solemn speech in honour of Bedřich Smetana will be delivered by the writer Pavel Kosatík.
After the memorial act, the Svatobor association invites those attending to visit the tomb of Slavín (entry will be in small groups from the side of the cairn).
