Später studierte er Dirigieren an der Akademie der musischen Künste in Prag bei Jiří Bělohlávek, Radomil Eliška und Leoš Svárovský. Im Jahr 2000 nahm er am Prager-Frühling-Dirigentenwettbewerb teil. 2003 war er Gewinner des internationalen Lovro-von-Matačić-Dirigierwettbewerbs in Zagreb, Kroatien.[1] In seinem Graduierungskonzert im Jahr 2004 im Rudolfinum dirigierte er Josef Suks Asrael-Sinfonie mit den Prager Radiosinfonikern. Zurzeit vervollständigt Hrůša seine Studien mit einer Dissertation zu zeitgenössischen tschechischen Komponisten.
